A New Start

Jimi showed up at Keira's door and stood there for a minute. He could sense that Keira was right on the other side of the door. She probably knew he was coming for the last five minutes. Finally Jimi held a hand up and knocked on the door. After three short knocks, he stopped and looked at his hand. He hadn't even realized it, but he had taken his wedding ring off.

Keira opened the door and smiled. She knew he was there and knew he was comming so she stood close to the door. "Hey Jimi."

Jimi smiled back at her, leaning in her doorway. "You ready to go?"

Keira fixed her yellow tube top and smiled. "Yeah, I'm ready." She smiled and grabbed her purse.

Jimi looked Keira up and down. "You look good. Dressed perfect for where we're about to go."

Keira smiled. "Great....where are we going?" She asked him.

"You'll just have to find out." Jimi smirked as he opened to door to his car. "It's not very surprising if I tell you."

Keira rolled her eyes. "Alright, alright." She smiled and got into the car.

The sun was setting as Jimi pulled into an abandoned parking lot. "Here we are." He smiled and got out the car, opening the door for Keira. "I've got something to show you. Come on, watch your step." He said and held his hand out.

Keira took his hand and looked around. "Where are we?" she asked smiling.

"This used to be a pretty popular park, but not many people come here anymore." Jimi led her onto an old path. "There's a cabin by the lake here. It's pretty beat down but it's a nice place to get away."

Keira nodded her head. "It's pretty, I like it." She smiled and looked around.

"Wait until you see the lake." Jimi said as he opened the door to the cabin. "I don't think I've ever shown anybody this before."

"Not even Alice?" She said then immediatly regretted it. "Sorry..."

Jimi stopped in the middle of the room and looked around sadly. "I never had a chance to."

Keira looked at him sadly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that." she felt really guilty and looked at the ground and mentally cursed herself for being stupid.

Jimi stuck his hands in his pocket and just stared off into the distance, then back down at the floor. "No matter how hard I try, everything just seems to lead right back to her."

Keira looked at him and walked over and hugged him. "I'm sorry, I'm probably not helping much...."

Jimi was startled by the hug and his body immediately stiffened. After a few seconds of standing he relaxed and gradually put his arm around her. "No not really." He chuckled lightly. "You're almost exactly like her."

She felt him relax after a few minutes and nodded. "I knew her in school, we didn't talk much. We had different friends and such. She was a pretty cool person though, everyone wanted to be like her or be with her. And yeah....I was told that I acted just like her, which was weird cause we both ended up vampires and...." Keira didn't want to admit the last part so she shut her mouth and looked away.

All this talk about Alice was bringing back memories that Jimi didn't want to remember. He just stood and listened to Keira. Jimi raised an eyebrow curiously and looked at her. "And..?"

"Nevermind..." she said and turned away. She walked over to a window and sighed, she didn't want to admit that she liked him, not even to herself.

Jimi walked over to the window and placed his hand over hers. "I'm glad you're here with me. I don't know what JJ would do without you."

Keira smiled. "I'm glad I'm here too." She said and looked at their hands out of the corner of her eye.
