Nothing to Lose

Jimi lay on the bed, his son JJ was curled up next to him. Neither of them were sleeping, just laying there listening to the music pumping from the stereo upstairs. Already JJ had picked him his taste in music. Suddenly JJ looked up at Jimi with his giant shining eyes. "Daddy, what are we gunna do?"
"What do mean?" Jimi asked softly.
"Without mommy I mean. I want a mommy."
"It's not that simple JJ. I know you do."

Keira didn't know wether or not this was right but she thought Jimi might want this back so she apparated to outside his apartment. She knocked on the door, already knowing he probably caught whiff of her sent the second she apparated but decided to talk anyway. "Jimi? Uh...can you let me in?"

Jimi didn't hear the knock but he caught the sweet scent. "Stay here JJ." He ruffled JJ's hair and got off the bed. He walked over to the door and opened it. "Keira. What are you doing here?"

Keira sighed. "Honestly, I don't know. You left this in my office and I thought you'd want it." she said and handed him a picture of Jimi and Alice somewhere by an ocean, by the looks of it it was a wedding photo.

Jimi took the photo slowly and gazed at it. "You didn't have to come all the way here to bring it." He smiled sadly. "But since you're here. JJ hasn't stopped asking about you."

Keira smiled. "Yeah, but I had nothing to do and I thought you'd like it back." she laughed and pulled a little girl behind her. "Well I brought Kenya with me incase he wanted a friend I'm baby sitting."

"I'm sure JJ would love to meet her." Jimi smiled and moved out of the doorway to let them in. "Hey JJ! I think someone's here to see you." He laughed when he heard JJ come down the hallway. He was Kenya and grinned. "HI! I'm JJ."

Kenya smiled. "Hi, I'm Kenya Keira Kaya Underwood."
Keira laughed. "She loves saying her full name since it's so long."
Kenya ran over to JJ and grabbed his hand. "Will you be my friend?"

JJ beamed. "Of course I will!"
Jimi watched the two run into the living room, talking to each other. "Thanks for bringing her over. I haven't seen JJ that happy before."

Keira smiled. "No problem, she loves making friends. Hard for her since people judge because she's only half. She doesn't belong in one or the other. So i'm glad she has JJ. He's a good kid." She said and smiled at the two kids running around the living room. "And I don't live that far from here so it wasn't hard to bring her. She is one of the only people I know who enjoys apparating."

"Yeah..." Jimi could only nod in response. "I haven't been the best father either. Mostly just me and him all the time. Not enough opportunities to let him makes friends." He sighed and looked at the photo again. "I feel like I need to move on for him."

Keira shrugged. "Yeah, but it's only been a few months. You need to take time also, get to know someone first make sure JJ likes her, and take it slow. You may think you need to move on quickly for him but you need to think of yourself a little also." She said and got down when she saw Kenya running at her. She caught the little girl and twirled her around laughing. "What's up Kenny?"
"I like JJ Aunt Kiki, he's funny." she replied laughing.
"That's good, now go play some more then we'll go and get something to eat." Keira replied and kissed her head and put her down.
"Can I go?" JJ asked Keira pulling her pant leg.
Keira looked at Jimi. "Well....if it's alright with daddy. You're both welcome to go."

"He's all I got though. I like seeing him happy. And he really likes you too. Hasn't stopped talking about you," Jimi sighed. "You're his savior in a way." He smiled when JJ and Kenya ran up to them. "Well we don't have anything planned. So why not?"

Keira shrugged. "Well, take your time. Get to know a few girls you might have an interest in and see how it works out." She said smiling. She smiled when Kenya and JJ hugged and started celebrating.
"Yeah!" They both yelled and jumped around.

Only interested in one right now. Jimi thought and looked at Keira, intrigued. "Yeah, I guess so." He laughed at a sudden thought. "This means I'm allowed to check out students again. I'm sure Alice would've loved that one."

Keira laughed and rolled her eyes. "I did hear about that, and surprised you weren't thrown into azkaban for it." she joked. "My last ex is....stalkerish. One reason I moved back to London is so maybe he'd leave me alone."

"I know my way around the law." Jimi smirked. "Well tell me when you see the creeper next time. I'll take care of him for you."

Keira laughed. "Well that's one way to get out of something." Keira shrugged. "Nah, he's not your concern."

"Really though, I don't like stalkers and it would be a nice excuse to beat the crap out of somebody." Jimi shrugged.

Keira laughed. "Alright, hopefully he got the message last time but he's a little stupid."
Kenya ran at Keira's feet and climbed up to her arms. "Aunt Kiki i'm hungry!"
"Alright, let's go somewhere to eat. Any certain place you two like?" She asked Jimi and JJ.

Jimi and JJ looked at each other. "Well...we don't really eat. You know the whole.....grrr thing." Jimi curled his hands into claws and showed his fangs. "This one already has a taste for blood."

Keira laughed. "Well, I usually just get a extra rare steak, if you explain your vampire it's barely even cooked. She's only half so she needs to eat human food and blood, that's the only reason I even put up with human food anymore."

"I haven't eaten human food in years." Jimi thought for a second. "Like several decades. Guess I could try it. But I don't know any places to eat...for obvious reasons."

"Alright, Covent Garden it is then." She smiled and grabbed Kenya's hand. "Do you know where it is?"

"No idea. Not even the faintest clue." Jimi smiled shyly. "I'm lost, so you'll have to lead the way,"

Keira nodded. "Alright, uh... do you prefer aparateing or car?"

"Well I've got a Mercedes just sitting in the garage waiting to be driven." Jimi smirked.

Keira smiled. "Alright, I'll give directions." she picked up Keira but noticed JJ pouting. "What's wrong JJ?"
"I want you to carry me!" he pouted and sat down.
Kenya looked at Jimi then at JJ then at Keira then she finally held her arms out to Jimi.
Keira looked at Kenya then Jimi a little surprised.

'Sounds good." Jimi grabbed the car keys and laughed at JJ's pouting. He was taken aback when Kenya held her arms out. But he still bent down and picked her up. "Hey there Kenny. We ready to go?"

Keira smiled and picked up JJ. "There you get your way, again." She said laughing and tickled his sides.
"Yay! Thanks Kenny!" he said and hugged Keira.
"Well, better get going. Lunch rush will be coming."
